rimondo Performance Score

Everything about the RPS - simply explained!

With the rimondo Performance Score, we have developed the fairest sporting evaluation system that not only takes into account your performance level, but also the number of competitors.

What exactly is the RPS?

Imagine you've just put in a fantastic round on the show jumping course or completed a great dressage test. Cool, right? But how do you compare this performance fairly with others who may have competed at a different level or against more competitors? This is where the RPS comes into play! RPS stands for "rimondo Performance Score" and is your personal score that shows how well you and your horse did in comparison - taking into account everything that is important: the level of the test and the number of competitors.

And why are we doing this?

The RPS helps us to evaluate your performance fairly. For example, a win in a large starting field is rated higher than in a smaller one. We also want every placement you achieve to be rewarded - yes, even those further down the field. And of course, we want you to especially shine with victories and top placings. In short, the RPS ensures that your hard work and skills are rewarded fairly, regardless of the level you compete at.
With the RPS, you can compare your performance directly with others, regardless of the level in which you competed. You can see at a glance how good you are and measure yourself against friends, training partners and competitors. The RPS also motivates you to take on new challenges and see how you perform against more competitors or in higher classes.

But how does the RPS calculation actually work?

Let's go through the whole thing step by step:

Base value:

Each test has a base value. The more difficult the test, the higher the value. That makes sense, right?

Test points:

If you compete against more competitors, it should add up and we activate the competitor boost. The base value is offset against the number of competitors and results in the test points. But don't worry, we have a fair upper and lower limit so that things don't get too crazy.

Points for the best:

This is where it gets exciting. The best three quarters of the competitors in a test receive points. The last of this group receives one point, and it only goes up from there. But wait, there's more!

Extra points for placed riders:

You get an extra point for every placed rider you leave behind. And: Victory is doubly rewarding, because you get two extra points on top for winning the test.

rimondo Performance Score:

At the end, we divide your points by the highest possible score in the test and multiply this by the test points. Voilà, that's your RPS!
