The Donnerhall - Akzent II son De Niro was bred by Brigitte Pahl and was born in 1993. In 1995 the black horse was licensed in Verden and passed to Burkhard Wahler and Tönne Böckmann. In 1997 De Niro became reserve champion of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf with 141.93 points and rideability winner with 145.41 points. In 2000, at the age of seven, he was already victorious in the Grand Prix. In 2001, De Niro won under Dolf-D. Keller at the German Championships for Professional Riders. International victories in the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special in Saumur and Berlin followed in 2002. In 2003 De Niro won the German Dressage Derby in Hamburg. In 2004, after two reserve winners, the sire provided the champion stallion in Verden with Dancier. In 2005, De Niro produced the champion stallion in Verden as the dam's sire. In 2006 he was the most successful sire with 14 offspring at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. In 2007, the De Niro son Deveraux became world champion of 6-year-old dressage horses. Several De Niro offspring have already won Grand Prix tests. In 2008 De Niro was named Stallion of the Year by the Hanoverian Association. In 2009 he presented two European champions and Dablino, the most successful young Grand Prix horse. In 2010, the sire reached 5th place in the World Breeding Federation for Sporthorses with 10 offspring that were successful in international Grand Prix sport. His son Dablino won team bronze at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky under Anabel Balkenhol. His son Desperados and Falk Rosenbauer won the German Dressage Derby in Hamburg. In 2011, De Niro's offspring achieved annual winnings of over 230,000 euros, meaning that his offspring's lifetime winnings exceeded 1 million euros. 2012 became another milestone in his breeding career. He took first place in the WBFSH rankings for the first time and was therefore the best dressage sire worldwide. This year, a total of six of his offspring traveled to the Olympic Games in London. For Germany: Desperados and Kristina Sprehe, Dablino and Anabel Balkenhol, as well as D'Agostino and Fabienne Lütkemeier as reserve horse. For Spain Delgado and Beatriz Ferrer-Salat, for Belgium Donnerfee and Claudia Fassaert and as a reserve horse for Canada Devon L and Diane Creech. In 2013-2017, De Niro continued to hold the syringe spot in the world breeding rankings as the best sire. You can read more about the life story of De Niro at http://www.klosterhof-medingen.de/
