name (DE) Rivendell Sirandipity gender Stallion
breed Zangersheide riding horse type horse
Sirandipity was conceived in Germany and born in quarantine in South Africa. He has world-class and highly desirable bloodlines, being out of a Calvaro Z x Ramiro Z mare by Sir Shutterfly, brother to the world-famous Shutterfly. Full brother to high flyer Shutterfly, Sir Shutterfly is contributing his world-class pedigree to the show jumper breeding world. Sir Shutterfly This stallion’s genes are absolutely first class. Sir Shutterfly is full brother to Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum’s amazing horse Shutterfly, who has won just about every single title there is to win. He’s a thoroughbred type with wonderful conformation and plenty of blood. Sir Shutterfly completed an excellent 30-day test with a jumping-oriented overall score of 8.96. The breakdown is a perfect 10.0 for for scope, 9.75 for jumping ability, 9.5 for technique and 9.0 for temperament and character. A delightfully elegant blood horse, Sir Shutterfly is focused, intelligent and collects his strength before take off to deliver a perfect bascule over the jump. He qualified for the Bundeschampionat and has competed successfully in up to 1.30 m classes, which is the right level for his age. Full brother Shutterfly won double bronze at the World Championship in Aachen in 2006, individual gold at the European Championship in 2007 and he helped his rider to win the Riders Tour series. In 2008 he competed at the Hong Kong Olympics, coming 4th in the individual competition, making him the highest placed German horse. He has won a total of over EUR 2.6 million in show jumping prize money to date. Sire Silvio I – the most successful Sandro son based on his offspring’s lifetime earnings – is a thoroughbred type stallion. His maternal grandsire Forrest xx adds another dash of thoroughbred blood to the pedigree, which is rounded off with Gardestern and Wendekreis. His first crops of foals have impressive conformation and elastic gaits. Sirandipity’s damline goes back to Calvaro Z. Calvaro’s sire Caletto I, is very famous for producing showjumpers. His mother Deka by Consul made breeding history as mother of five approved sons. Caletto I was one of the most successful horses in showjumping. Under Michael Rüping, Caletto I, jumped at international level and his best achievement was the individual bronze at the 1982 Dublin World Championships. After his show jumping career lasting five years, this son of Cor de la Bryère had won more than 100.000,00 DM – more than any other German breeding stallion before him. In 1997 he was already National Dutch Champion with Jos Lansink and in the same year they won the Silver Medal Team at the European Championships. In 1998 they continued their fantastic career by becoming 9th at the World Equestrian Games and by finishing 2nd in the Grand Prix of Monterrey, 2nd in the Pulsar Crown and 2nd in the German Classics. In 1999 John Withaker was 2nd in the Grand Prix of Great Britain with Calvaro and in 2000 Calvaro had a fantastic 0,4 with the team in the Olympic Games of Sydney.
His offspring are very athletic with great movements and show their sire’s good temperament. Sirandipity’s granddam sire, is the even so famous stallion Ramiro Z. In a lifespan of thirty years, the "preferent" G Ramiro Z's performance as a sporthorse and breeding sire earned him the titles 'Stallion of the Century' and "King of Sires." His progeny can be described with one word: sublime. He supplied a large number of stallions approved in the Netherlands and abroad as well as an impressive series of fantastic sport horses many of whom have achieved fame. His daughter, the super-mare Ratina Z, is the dream of the show jumping world, winning double Olympic gold medals (1992 and 1996) at the Barcelona Olympics, and the World Cup of 1993. Ramiro's progeny distinguish themselves in dressage as well. Despite his impressive ancestry and sports results, one of G Ramiro Z's biggest claims to fame are his fertility and sperm quality. They were so high that he was used in the research of artificial insemination and frozen semen to produce the science we know today. This fertility is passed on to his offspring, including ROYAAL Z. Ramiro still ranks number 16 on the 2003 World Breeding Federation jumping stallion rankings. He is arguably the most influential jumping stallion ever...
