Barbados, a promising Oldenburg stallion from the 2018 cohort, has already impressed with his athletic abilities at a young age. Under the rider Kristin Biermann, he showcased his talent in dressage horse competitions at level A, achieving over three placings in just four starts.

Although the first offspring of Barbados are expected to enter competitive sport only this year, his impressive pedigree suggests a successful breeding career. His sire, Bernay, a Rhinelander stallion, is already the sire of over 250 offspring who have proven themselves in sport. The dam of Barbados, Desperanda L II, carries the outstanding genes of the Hanoverian stallion Desperados FRH, who achieved over 110 placings in his career and is known as the sire of over 600 offspring.

With these genetic prerequisites and his own potential, Barbados is regarded as a promising sire in dressage. His future offspring could significantly influence the breeding landscape and continue the successes of his ancestors.
